(I have posted this same message on a similar thread, sorry if Im not supposed to, but I really want a solution!) Please find out or tellme if you know Why? Thank
Something has been done or changed to limit the points to just 3 (+SystemImage Points) I would like it to be like W7 is/was, or to be told why this limit of 3, or how to change it so I can keep how many I like. And as it being such a dodgy unstable system, W8, then I would like it to keep more points. It has never yet, built up a decent stack of restore points. Only 5GB of the 20GB were used, and is ever used. I saw just now, 3 restore points, and one from an old system It never keeps any more than Maybe? 4? restore points. BUT with my W8, and my Mums W8.1, only 3 restore points are EVER kept. Is reached, then will replace the oldest one, as a new one is needed. All my W7 laptops, will keep saving restore points and keep them all, until the 20GB On all my laptops, I set/configure Disk space for restore points, to 20GB's or more. Hope this helps, if you need further assistance on Windows let us know we will be glad to help. System Restore has an automatic restore point space-management feature that purges the oldest restore points to make room for new ones, while still enabling the user to recover from any recent destructive changes.Īlso refer the suggestion provided by MVP “ Ronnie Vernon” from this link: Check if the current usage exceed the max usage. On System Protection tab select the drive and click Configure.ĥ.
Follow these steps to check Disk Space usage:Ĥ. What is the available disk space on the computer?Ĭheck the Disk space usage if the current Usage increases the usage limit System Restore will automatically delete the older restore point. What is the maximum disk usage you have set for System Restore?ģ.
